For the first time in many years and under Head Coach Edward Whetton, Syston Northfields have entered junior teams into the Aegon National Club League.  There will be a mini red (4-8), mini orange (8-9), mini green (9-10) and U12 girls team.  This is a big step forward for the junior section, and we hope it will be a great success, with new junior coordinator Marc Potter assisting the process.

We have Easter and Summer holiday camps running through all weeks of the holidays.  Each week the camps will run on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning, 9:15am-12:15pm.  The cost of each day is £10pp, or you can book 3 days in the same week for £24.

The camps will provide specific teaching points and themes based on the game of tennis.  All shots will be covered as well as fitness, tactical play and matchplay.  Other sporting activities may also be delivered i.e. football, cricket, rounders etc.

I have made the decision to move the mini red groups on a Monday 4pm - 5pm and Thursday 4pm - 5pm indoors at East Goscote Village Hall.  Mini Red and Orange Saturday groups will be held 9am - 10am and 10am - 11am at Roundhill Academy, the same as last year.  This will move the Green and Yellow ball group lessons back 30 minutes.  All prices remain the same.

Every Tuesday between 5:00 pm and 6:15 pm I am running a junior club evening.  This caters for juniors of all ages and is a session where they can turn up and play against other junior members in practice matches as well as play fun games to finish.  The cost of the session is just £1!  For more details please contact Edd on 07800 599057.  

This years club tournament saw the most junior competitors for many years, ranging from the age of 4 to 16 years old.  It was many players first time playing in a competition and they coped with it very well with some great tennis on show.  The results from each final are:

2015 is looking bright for Syston Juniors.  

On Sunday 29th June we held an open day at the club.  This is where players could come down between 11am and 2pm and attend coaching or play with friends and family for free.  It was none stop during the 3 hours with people arriving continuously throughout.  

Due to the great experience given by our club members (and some none members) we have gained new members and players for coaching.  I would like to say a big thank you to Lee Stock, James Stock, Victoria Willson, Emily Markley, James Whetton and Jeff Whetton for all the help on the day, as well as many others who helped to advertise the event before and on the day.
